Unborn Analysis

Mise En Scene
Costumes: Old woman wears a white dressing gown which represents her innocence and unawareness of the situation. As the old woman appears innocent it gives the viewers the ussumption of the forecoming events.
The white clothing of an old man could also signify his innocence as it is not his fault he's posessed and does not take responsibility for his own actions. Thanks to the white clothing, both of the characters stand out from the dark surroundings.
Surroundings: The lighting in the scene is low key and dark so the audience can't see much which therefore biulds up suspence. Most of the scene is based on the staircase which is known to be hazardous place and gives away an idea of trouble coming. Most visible facial expressions are that of a man. They portray horror and cruelty which have a spine-chilling effect on the viewer. The props such asthe  cane and a torch appear to be the only realiable help an old woman can  get.
Camera: 0:48 shows an old man's transformation from the lady's point of view at a high angle.this connects with the audience and and also frightens them.It is also a midshot with the light focusing on the man's face to show his horror and at the same timehorrify the viewers. The scene also contains a shot reverse shot in order to show the Lady's shock.A tracking shot is used to show the creature chasing the woman.A good graphic match is also used as the old lady opens the door.
Editing: Jump cuts are used as the chase begins .This speeds up the process and distresses the audience. The main use of straight cuts keeps the viewers interest and focus on the content of the clip.
